Thanksgiving Cards For 2008

Here is the card I made for Momma's crew...I've been wanting to do this card for a few months now and it's rather hard to find 4 pieces of patterned paper to coordinate with a solid. I think it turned out simple but nice.

Here is the Thanksgiving card I made to mail out. I really love my new Curly Label Punch!

Here is our very scary Halloween card. The inspiration came from a Chinese Takeout Box in the Scrapbooks, Etc issues I just received. I typed the senitment onto the card as I didn't want to buy the Stampin' Up set it comes in....it's the only one I liked! Happy Halloween!

Greenville Rubber Stamp Convention Sept 2008

These are my stamping divas...well, 5 of about 20! This is a photo of us at the rubber stamp convention in Greenville, SC. These women are very creative and inspiring and I love hanging out with them!

Here is what 'enabling' looks like....they're trying to tempt me with their eyes!

And here is what enabling via learning will do.....it makes you buy more stuff! We had a blast and now we're broke!

Just Be-Claws!

Here is the card I sent out to people for July! I like the way it turned out. Things always look crooked on this scanner....I swear that ribbon was straight before it went on the scanner glass!?

Aloha....Penguin Style!

Here's the card I sent out for my mom's crew.....I decided not to send out July cards as I was making backstock for the places in which I sell my cards. I added two businesses to the list this month! I love this penguin paper. It has glitter on it and has such a yummy summery feel to it!

Home From Iraq!

It's a lucky day! Nadia, my co-worker, has been awaiting her husband's return from Iraq for 15 months. Nadia's husband was recently added to his unit so she didn't know anyone who could keep her company, and Suzi, another co-worker, and I gladly stepped up to the plate! I've done this a time or two and it's always better to have others to distract you as the time frames for arrival change like underware!

June Cards...

This is the card I sent out for June! It was the happiest card to send to 4 soldiers who will be returning in July/August! Godspeed Fisher, Alfieri, Peters, and Ingram. Please continue to pray for those still left behind.

Here's the card I made for my mom's card recipients. It's simple but gets the point across!

Just Beakause...

I really like the way this turned out. It was tedious to stamp the beak a different color and cut the parrot out but I'm happy with the results!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post! This is what I made to mail from me and Tom for Mother's Day cards this year. It's a little similar to what I made for Momma's crowd but the colors and images are very different.
This is what I made for Momma's card crowd......I hope you had a nice Mother's Day!

A Yummy Birthday!

Tom turned 40 today and we celebrated by taking him to a steak restaurant that we've been trying to get to for about all of our married life! It's in K-Ville, Georgia and it's called Reedy Creek and it's truly in the middle of nowhere.....ahhhhhh! The drive was nice and relaxing and the food was good. Momma gave Tom some black balloons and a brownie cake! Tom was not able to taste his food that well due to his nose surgery but he said he could tell it would be even better next time!

Nose Surgery

Tom had his nasal surgery today to widen the passage on the side that seemed to be officially closed up. It will take quite awhile for it to seem like the surgery was worth it! This is him before surgery, pretending to feel the effects of the anesthesia. What a ham!

This is him after the surgery. He was smiling only because I told him I was taking his picture. This was quite an experience that Tom says he'll never have again if this one doesn't work!

Happy May Birthday!

WOW there are a lot of May birthdays. Since birthdays have been getting away from me lately, I've already got them addressed and at the door! And, since I've been away for so long, I thought I'd post some cards.

Dixie Crystal Sugar Refinery Patients

After the sugar refinery explosion, I felt led to do something nice for the patients at the burn center in Augusta. Each patient recieved a different card. Here are a few highlights. Please keep them in your prayers as they still have a long road ahead.

My First Festival!

Sorry I've been gone so long....this is what I've been up to for the last few months! I've been feverishly stamping cards to participate in The Midway Art Festival. I sold 45 cards in 3 1/2 hours. MANY people browsed. One man told me to keep up the good work because cards are very important to people, especially when they come in the mail at the right moment. I think he must have been a stamper in a former life because I think that's one reason we do what we do! I love to brighten people's lives with my passion. Two ladies from Jacksonville were really fun customers. They shopped and talked about crafting! One young girl (who behaved JUST like I did when I was small...mature for her age and very well-behaved) bought a notebook from me with her OWN money from her OWN wallet. One little girl was with her grandmother and she asked her grandmother to buy her a notebook. It was so neat to know young people liked my stuff too! I really hope everyone that purchased something from me enjoys their loot!

My mother made my basket covers....aren't they just to die for? I
had 5 offers for them and at least 4 others just inquiring about them. She's famous now! Oh, and one of my stamping friends has asked me to ask her if she'll make her some too! She made them every night after working all day and they fit wonderfully! My yellow ribbons gave me a FIT to tie perfectly. No ribbon tied the same.

All in all, it was a wonderful experience for me. My friend, Parul, encouraged me to sign up for this shindig. My stamping friends and co-workers were very supportive by keeping me motivated over the last few months. My friend Suzi let me borrow her jade ring so I had good luck. My mom helped me pick out my setup (a several week long venture) and sewed all week long. My mom's friend, Mary, came by to help me get some ideas and put her stamp of approval on things. My friend, Patty, encouraged me and helped me out today. My husband taught me how to pitch a tent for the first time, put up with the house looking like Hallmark had thrown up all over, and helped me create my display of dangling cards. The owners of The Midway Gallery, the vendors at the festival, and the patrons were very nice and I saw a few people I haven't seen in quite awhile. I'll leave you with a before and after picture...

Caught A Bug

My friend, Sandi, stamped some of her cute bug stamps and mailed them to me because I had a "heard you caught a bug' sentiment (see right) with no bug to put with it. The blue dots in the ribbon really do match the blue paper in real life but the computer doesn't reflect that it matches. Oh well, I'm no computer techie, I'm a card maker.

Happy Easter

Here's a card I made recently. Enjoy! Hope y'all have a great Easter!
